About Tom Gamache, Photographer

Tom grew up in the evergreen hills, sky blue lakes and White Mountains of New Hampshire. He attended Boston University's School of Public Communication where he studied photography during the mid to late 1960’s.

Tom’s images are a delight of color, scale, shape and intimacy. They have appeared in National Park publications, posters, visitor centers and interpretive programs throughout the country. His work has won numerous awards and can be seen in art galleries, corporate and private collections and in many periodicals including Sierra Club books and calendars, National Geographic Adventure and the LA Times. His present-day photography road-trip wanderings are legend, often covering many thousands of miles monthly researching, discovering, rediscovering and finally, resolving an image to his satisfaction.

Tom's art engenders a "feeling" in viewers, indescribable as it may be. The search for this mysterious attribute is the force behind his endeavors. His images are an interpretation of the work of “the Masters” coupled with today’s technological advances and subject matter. The results are contemporary images that are both classic and modern.

In addition to offering original archival prints Tom also conducts photography workshops at National Parks throughout the west including: Sequoia NP, Mesa Verde NP, Death Valley NP, Santa Monica mountains NRA, and others.
